Wachovia Insurance Services relationship with Girl Scouts of the USA dates back to the 1950’s when GSUSA was having trouble placing insurance on the Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace in Savannah, GA. Wachovia Insurance Services resolved the problem with the Birthplace so GSUSA approached Wachovia again in the mid-70’s because a number of Girl Scout councils were encountering coverage affordability and availability problems at that time. The result was the beginning of the Girl Scouts of the USA-sponsored property and liability insurance program. The number of councils participating in the Girl Scouts of the USA-sponsored program had grown to over 280 prior to realignment. The coverage currently available to councils in the program include:
- Property
- General Liability
- Auto
- Workers Compensation
In addition to providing insurance coverage tailored to the needs of Girl Scout councils, Wachovia Insurance Services provides a number of value added services to our Girl Scout clients:
- Monthly Quick Response newsletter.
- Participation in the development and delivery of Safety and Risk Management Seminars designed for Girl Scout councils.
- Collaboration with Girl Scouts of the USA, St. Paul Travelers, and council leadership in the Safety Group for Girl Scout Councils.
